Cairo - Aswan - Luxor - Dahab – Sinai Desert - Cairo
Day 1: Welcome to the City of a Thousand Minarets
Your journey begins in Cairo. After a warm welcome at the airport and a smooth transfer to your hotel, the afternoon is yours. Dive into the medieval charm of Islamic Cairo, haggle for treasures at Khan el-Khalili, explore the Citadel, or enjoy a sunset Nile cruise as the city lights begin to flicker.
Day 2: Pharaohs & The Midnight Express
Start your morning at the world-famous Egyptian Museum, home to over 100,000 ancient relics. After a 2-3 hour guided highlights tour, you are free to explore the galleries at your own pace. Following lunch, stand in awe before the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza. In the evening, board your first-class sleeper train for the journey south to Aswan.
Day 3: The Charm of Aswan
Arrive in Aswan in the early morning. Later, we’ll visit the romantic Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the engineering marvel of the High Dam. Your evening is free to enjoy the relaxed Nubian atmosphere along the riverbanks.
Day 4: Island Hopping & Felucca Life
Embrace the traditional pace of life as we board a local felucca to visit the lush Kitchener and Elephantine Islands. In the afternoon, your two-night sailing adventure begins. Relax on deck and soak up the golden sun while our onboard chef prepares a fresh dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Serenity on the Nile
Enjoy a full day of tranquility as your felucca glides slowly downstream. This is your time to disconnect, read, and enjoy the ever-changing river scenery. We’ll anchor for the night near Kom Ombo, sleeping on board beneath the open sky.
Day 6: Riverside Temples & Luxor’s East Bank
Start with a sunrise visit to the dual Temple of Kom Ombo, followed by the majestic Temple of Horus at Edfu. By afternoon, we arrive in Luxor to witness the monumental Karnak Temple and the beautifully illuminated Luxor Temple on the East Bank.
Day 7: The West Bank & Journey to the Sinai
Explore the legendary West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, and the mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. You’ll also visit the towering Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, board an overnight bus for the scenic journey across the desert to Dahab.
Day 8: Dahab & The Ascent of Mount Sinai
Arrive in the seaside paradise of Dahab and spend the day relaxing by the Red Sea. After an afternoon nap, we depart at 11:00 PM to begin our moonlight trek up Mount Sinai, reaching the 2,285-meter summit in time for a truly magnificent sunrise.
Day 9: St. Catherine’s & Coastal Rest
After sunrise, descend the mountain to visit the historic Monastery of St. Catherine. Return to Dahab for a well-earned rest and a free afternoon to enjoy the beach or the local cafes.
Day 10: Into the Heart of the Sinai
We leave the coast behind for the high desert. Visit the Wadi Feiran Oasis and the Seven Nun Monastery, followed by a visit to a desert organic farm to learn about arid-climate agriculture over an organic lunch. End the day at an old Nabataean village and stay the night at the unique El Karm Hotel.
Day 11: Crystal Mountains & Sand Dunes
Travel by Jeep to El Gouna Mountain for a hike to see mesmerizing crystal rocks and enjoy lunch with a view. In the afternoon, we head to Arada Valley to play in the massive sand dunes before a traditional dinner under the stars.
Day 12: The Camel Trek Begins
Trade the Jeep for a camel as we trek for two hours to the Safra Sand Dune. Visit the hidden spring at Bir Safra for a refreshing break and lunch before returning to the dunes for a peaceful night in the desert.
Day 13: Mountains with Holes & Breathtaking Views
Continue your camel journey to Gebel Makhroum (the Mountain with a Hole) for a scenic lunch. In the afternoon, we ride to the Hedoda Sand Dune, where you’ll find some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the Sinai.
Day 14: Final Trek & Return to Cairo
A final morning camel ride takes us through El Gaby Valley for a relaxing lunch. We then return to the main road to catch our bus back to Cairo, arriving in the evening for your final night in Egypt.
Day 15: Farewell to the Nile
After breakfast, enjoy a final stroll through the city before your private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight home.
