Day 1: Welcome to Cairo
Your journey begins with a warm welcome at the airport and a smooth transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to explore the city’s vibrant pulse. Consider wandering through the medieval beauty of Islamic Cairo, hunting for treasures at the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, or enjoying a sunset Nile cruise to see the city lights from the water.
Day 2: Wonders of the Ancient World
Dive into history at the Egyptian Museum, home to over 100,000 relics. After a guided highlights tour, you’ll have time to roam the galleries at your own pace. After lunch, stand in the shadow of the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza. In the evening, board your first-class sleeper train for a comfortable journey south to Aswan.
Day 3: The Charm of Aswan
Wake up in Aswan and head out to discover the romantic Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the engineering marvel of the High Dam. The evening is yours to relax by the Nile or explore the local Nubian markets.
Day 4: Sailing the Nile by Felucca
Embrace the traditional pace of life as we board a local felucca to visit the lush Kitchener and Elephantine Islands. In the afternoon, your two-night sailing adventure begins. Relax on deck and soak up the golden sun while our onboard chef prepares a fresh dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Serenity on the Water
Enjoy a full day of tranquility as your felucca glides downstream. This is your time to disconnect and enjoy the changing river scenery. We’ll anchor for the night near the ancient site of Kom Ombo, sleeping on board beneath the open sky.
Day 6: Temples of the Nile & Luxor’s Majesty
Start with an early visit to the unique dual Temple of Kom Ombo, followed by the incredibly well-preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu. By afternoon, we arrive in Luxor to witness the monumental Karnak Temple and the beautifully illuminated Luxor Temple on the East Bank.
Day 7: The West Bank & Journey to the Sinai
Explore the legendary West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, and the mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. You’ll also visit the towering Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, board an overnight bus for the scenic journey across the desert to Dahab.
Day 8: Dahab & The Ascent of Mount Sinai
Arrive in the seaside paradise of Dahab and spend the day relaxing by the Red Sea. After an afternoon nap, we depart at 11:00 PM to begin our moonlight trek up Mount Sinai. We'll climb 2,285 meters to the summit to witness a truly magnificent sunrise.
Day 9: St. Catherine’s Monastery & Return to Cairo
After the sunrise, descend the mountain to visit the historic Monastery of St. Catherine, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Return to Dahab for a well-earned rest and a free afternoon. In the evening, we’ll board the overnight bus for the final leg of our journey back to Cairo.
Day 10: Farewell to Egypt
Arrive in Cairo in the morning with access to a hotel to freshen up. We’ll provide a final transfer to the airport in time for your onward journey, carrying memories of an unforgettable adventure.
