Crossing the border from Taba into Israel is a unique experience, but it requires a bit of preparation to keep it stress-free. Here is a helpful "Checklist" post you can share with your guests to help them prepare for the Jerusalem tour.
🛂 Taba Border Crossing: Your "Know Before You Go" Checklist
Crossing the border from Egypt to Israel is a smooth process if you’re prepared! To ensure a quick and easy journey on our Holy Land tour, here is everything you need to know:
1. Essential Documents
- Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
- Re-entry Visa (Optional): If you have a full Egyptian tourist visa and plan to return to Cairo or Luxor after the trip, ensure you have a "Multiple Entry" visa or be prepared to purchase a new one upon your return to Taba. (Note: The free "Sinai Only" stamp is usually sufficient if you are only staying in Dahab/Sharm).
- Booking Confirmation: Keep a digital or printed copy of your tour itinerary.
2. Border Fees (Cash is King!)
While we handle the tour logistics, you will need to pay the standard border exit/entry fees. It is best to have USD or ILS (Israeli Shekels) ready:
- Israeli Exit Fee: Approximately 109 NIS (roughly $30 USD) when leaving Israel back to Egypt.
- Egyptian Entry Fee: If you need a new full visa upon return, it is $25 USD (Cash only).
3. Packing Essentials
- Dress Modestly: To enter holy sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Western Wall, both men and women must cover their shoulders and knees.
- Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be walking the ancient stone streets of Jerusalem!
- Power Bank: It’s a long (but beautiful) journey—keep your phone charged for all those photos.
- Climate Prep: Jerusalem can be much cooler than Dahab, especially at night. Bring a light jacket or sweater.
4. Timing & Security
- Patience is Key: Security at the Taba border is very thorough. Be prepared for luggage X-rays and standard questioning by border officials.
- Pick-up: We leave Dahab late at night/early morning to ensure we are among the first at the border, beating the large tour bus crowds!
